  1. There is a road leading from the Carlow road to Newtown which is called the "back road." There is a road leading from Monavea to Ardateggle which is named the "bog road". This road is so called because it is cut through a bog.
    There is a road leading from Tolerton to Carlow which is named the "pike road". Another road is leading from Monavea to Mayo which is called the "New line". There is another road named the "New line" also leading from Mayo to the Carlow road.
