    There were many local burnings in this localtiy, such as Mr. Charley Sixsmiths house, Doonane. Much damage was done. There was a mill and an elevator and a steam engine burned. Mr Anthony Coes Garrdendenny, his house was burned. Mr. Brennan's house was burned. There was straw in the chimney and when the fire was lit the straw went on fire. The old barracks in Newtown was burned.
