- (continued from previous page)Carraig a Mhaiste is a rock some hundred yards to the north of Tawnytaskin N. School, Boyle Parish. It is said that a schoolmaster had a hedge-school under this rock.
- Shraw and Garrahunlin are names of fields we have. James Keville, Cournameltha [Cornameelta?], Boyle, has a field called Garrynabishen. Michael Toman, Cournameltha, has a field he calls Porcha, another called The Mute another The Móinín and another The Móinín Mullagh. Tom Hunt, Cournameltha, has a bog called Carraigín Draoi. Michael Queenan, Cournameltha, has on his land a hill called Carraigin Brock. Luke Harrington, Cournameltha, has a field called Gairnín Cléibhe. I have never heard explanations for these names.
