(continued from previous page)man his cow. Then John ran home as fast as he could. When his mother saw what he had done she was very angry. Then his mother took all the beans and threw them out the window. John now felt very sad. He did not know what to do or say "You are better go to bed" said his mother. " I have no supper to give you." Then he began to cry. He was very very hungry. But he soon fell asleep. The next morning he awoke very early. He never thought about the beans for a long time. When he looked out the stalks were as big as trees and they reached up to the sky. John now was filled with joy. He began to climb the beanstalk. When he reached the top he found himself in a strange country. He walked round the place. Soon he came to a giant's house. When Mrs. Giant saw John she said "run home or the Giant will kill you" Then the Giant walked into the room but he did not see John. After eating his supper the Giant called for his wonderful hen.
