- (continued from previous page)a tear. One day he was coming down the mountain with a load of heath on his shoulders. All at once he saw the little cow not far away from him with two tiny men minding her. "That's my cow" he cried out. "Not, it is not' said one of the little men. "Yes" it is said Seumas, throwing down his bundle of heath and taking the animal by the horns. Then the two little men drove the cow to the lake that was beside them. Then the cow fell in and Seumas hanging on to her horns. Seumas thought that his last moments had come Next things he found himself in a lovely palace. There were men before him in the gateway who invited him in. But Seumas held fast to the cow' horns and would not let her go Then the king came out and asked what did he want. "I want my cow" said Seumas. "That is not your cow" said the king. "But she is indeed" said Seumas. Then the king took out a bag of Gold and he said "I will give you as much gold as will buy twenty cow's for you. But Semas did not want the money he wanted his own cow. He still held fast to the cow's horns till a great breeze of wind came. In a moment he found himself and the cow back standing by the side of the lake where they had left.(continues on next page)
