    they came up a dreadful battle commenced
    The shreeking of wounded men and the groans of men dying could be heard high over the clashing of noise they made with the spears and shields. The great mase of men roched backwards and forwards. There was sometimes great cheering when one side seemed to be forcing the other side back and these cheers were always answered by shouts of rage and defiance.
    After along time when by the great light hundreds of dead men could be seen on the ground the men from the west could be seen rushing madly away the way they had come and the others in hut pursuit during their long spears though the bodies of all they over took.
    The great cheering and noise of the pursuit could be clearly heard, but soon these sounds became faint and still more faint till at length they died away in the distance At the same time the flame sunk lower and lower and went out altogether just as the last sounds of the pursuit ceased. The night settled down at dark and quite as it was at first and in the morning
