    About two miles from the downland of Castlemore there is a large Mass rock. Mass was said there in the Penal Days. Before a priest called Father McCann died he was supposed to have hidden gold and silver vessels some place near the rock. It is said that a man found a long strip of linen.
    Several attempts have been made to locate the treasure but they were always in vain. One night a band of young men went
