  1. Our holy wells
    There is one holy well in the parish of Elphin, and the County of Roscommon. The name of it is Tobermurry. It is situated in the middle of a field owned by Pat Nerney. The time for visiting the well is from the fifteenth of August to the eight of September.
    On all days of the week people perform "rounds". There are no special prayers to be said. Less than a hundred years ago there used to be faction fights, between the Beirnes and the Carneys. Each person leaves a relic after them. It is said that several people have been cured of several diseases. When the station is finished each person takes three drinks, and washes their faces, eyes,
