    Riddles
Come tell me if you can sir
He being so chuff both grim and gruff
The devil a word he'd answer
I got afraid and little said
For none likes to be haunted
And in passing by I did espy
In his visage what I wanted
Come tell to me and who is he
Who is so chuff and surly
Still silently he'll tell to thee
    The distance of the journey
    Ans: A milestone.
    2)
    I'm useful in every city
Allthough I am not counted witty
I serve alike both rich and poor
The wet and heat I can endure
The lawyer and the strict divine
To me they often do incline
The matron and they maid I say
    Attention to me daily pay
They feed me up whilst I can eat
Though not one bit I masticate
And when I'm fed to their desire
they take me to a scorching fire
