- The following pisreóga were taken down by the children from their parents. 1 When a coal falls out of the fire there is some-body coming in.
2 When a tea-leaf comes on top of a cup of tea there is a stranger coming to the house.
3 If the palm of your right hand is itchy you are getting a strange shake-hands.
4 If your right ear is hot there is somebody talking bad about you.
5 If a man comes in on New Years Day you will have good luck for the year.
6 If your left ear is hot there is somebody talking good about you.
7 If a woman is the first visitor you have on New Years' Day it is a sign of bad luck.
8. If a person comes in when you are making a churning and does not take a turn she will bring the butter.
9 If there is a red spark on the candle you will get a letter.
