  1. (continued from previous page)
You have from my early acquaintance, attracted my love and regaed,
And these I have cherished and fostered, without any fee or reward
So now I conclude this short ditty, and wishing it were better copied
With compliments to you dearest Micky, is the wish of your friend Michael Coffey.
My dear worthy friend Mr. Coffey your words I shall ever retain,
Your advice I shall cherish with profit while life in my body remain
And while I remain in existence, I shall never cease for to pray
That in heaven you may be admitted and life everlasting obtain.
I own that my ideas were foolish, in using nonsensical names
Which rendered me bothered and stupid and from it I never had gain
With my thanks and expressions most grateful, I offer my heart and my hand
To you I remain ever faithful, while my name it is Michael Hy-land.
