- During the long winter nights when the children cannot have anything to do they employ their time making toys. The toys the boys make are tops and bows and arrows. This is how they make them.
First they get a piece of leather and two pieces of string. They secure the string at each end of the leather. A pebble is placed in the centre. Going out they fling the string in the direction of the crow. What fun they have when they hear the shrill Caw! Caw! of the crow as the stone reaches her.
Another of the toys they make is a top. At first they get a spool and pare it until they have a point on one end. They(continues on next page)- Collector
