- On hearing the word smith it brings us back to the time of Cuculainn when smiths were held in the highest esteem by rich and poor. But time brings changes.
No longer does he occupy the prominent position he once held but is simply regarded as a useful member for shoeing the beasts of burden on the farm.
His workshop is called a forge and in it he labours at his trade & keeps his implements, which consist of a bellows, anvil file, rasp, drill hammers, nails, iron, water trough, pincers ??.
