- "Whoopingcough" The cure the old people had was to boil sweet clover and sugar and to drink the water of it. "Rheumatism" The cure for it is to boil wild sage and to drink the water of it. "Measels" The cure for it is to put the child under and over a donkey nine times. "A burn" To lick an Eascú Lúachrac nine times and then to lick the burn it would never get sore. "A sprain" To put it under a waterfall. There is a holy well near Bantry. It is called "Our Lady's well" because the blessed Virgin appeared(continues on next page)
