    Candle and burn the long hairs that are on the cow's udder. People say "suck suck" when calling calves.
    The horse is the most useful animal on the farm. It is shod five or six times in the year. Its food consists of oats chopped furze, hay, mangolds, and a drink of water twice a day. Very few around here keep sheep, and goats. The domestic fowl kept on the farmyard are ducks, hens turkeys and geese, when people call ducks they say "Fíonach Fíonach" and hens "tuich, tuich" and geese "beadaide, beadaide".
    When eggs are put hatching they are left about three weeks under the hens before the young chickens come out, and eggs got at a poultry station are marked
