    Times named Colonel Roycraft. He was a very hard, cruel man, and his tyranny was known all over the country. He had a tithe proctor who used to collect the tithes from the people. This man used very harsh, severe means when doing his work. The following is a story concerning a battle which was fought between the tithe proctor and a tenant who refused to pay rent : -
    The farmer and his family were warned before hand that the tithe proctor was to come to collect the tithes on a certain day. When the day came the farmer was looking out for him.
    At last he saw him coming and a bodyguard of soldiers with him. He went into the house and locked the doors. He then went
