- Some time ago there lived a widow and her son in some part of the country east of Drinagh. The boy had the habit of going to a neighbour's house playing cards. He used not come home until three o'clock in the morning. One night his mother told him not to be late any other night but he did not take her advice.
One night when he was coming home at two o'clock he met a Funeral and five men under the coffin. The funeral stopped, and a man came out from under the coffin and accused him of being around the roads idle while he himself was working. The stranger put the boy under the coffin to help them with their load. The boy was very frightened but he did not say any word because he knew it was the "good people were there. They walked away until the cock crew. They down the coffin on the road then at a place called "Crois na Marbh". They told the boy go home to his(continues on next page)- Collector
