In a desert most serene as I lay a while bemoaning
The present state and lot of my country at large
A damsel I saw seated on a neat bunch of roses
And she bitterly condoling the approach

Her amber locks lay hanging down along her back to the ground
Which might engage a monarch's crown so neatly disposed.
Her face as if painted by nature such as beauty yields
