My father told me that in his younger days, he frequently made the butter in this way - Gráinnseachán was a food which our Ancestors liked very much. This was wheat boiled in several waters until it was throughly soft; the water was then drained off and the wheat roasted in a bastible over a clear fire, when it was ready to be served. Many people used to pour cream on the Gráinnseachán to make it soft and give it a nice taste
