Up to about twenty years ago spinning flourished in every house while in every village there was a weaver. They made flannel and frieze clothes blankets and shawls. The machine that did the weaving was called a loom and the last one of those was owned by a man named Patsy Hynes, Newbridge, Ballygar Co Galway who is quite a young healthy man man yet. A few years ago, his brother who is professor in the Galway University got this loom brought brought there by(continues on next page)- Collector
