- Nowadays travelling folk seldom frequent this village unless a fair is held. Long ago many were to be seen. The Quinns were one of the kind. They were known as the long family because there was a lot of them in it and they used to go like ducks along the road with the father and mother first, and the seven daughters and one son following them. There's a few of them left yet and they pass this way once or twice a year. They accepted eggs, flour, or potatoes for alms. They travelled about from(continues on next page)
