- Caisleáin Uí Cealluig - Scrine
This is situated in Scrine farm formerly owned by Mr. MacDonnell of Lacken now owned by the Land Commission.
The only remains of the castle now standing is a circular building about four feet in height and six feet in diameter. The walls are about one foot thick.Beside this is a hole in the ground filled with stones which may have been a dungeon. There are stones scattered around.
The only existing tradition about the Castle is that gold is supposed to be buried there. In the adjoining townland - Lacken on the summit of a hill is a ruin which was used as a post for observing the hunt by one of the O Kelly's of Scrine when he was no longer able to join in the chase.(continues on next page)
