This means a great feast in which all the neighbours are present. Sometimes the married parties go to Cork or some other place for a week. They remain in the girl's house during the day singing and dancing and at night they go to the boy's house.
When they are getting married they wear something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Long ago it was horses and side cars the people had at weddings instead of motor-cars. It was a custom long ago that the man used bring the girl on horse back with him. When coming home after being married, people used put chains across the road so as to get something from them such as whiskey. It was a custom also that the married parties would celebrate the wedding for two days and two nights.
Long ago a girl and boy from Ballydonegan got married. They got married about six or seven o'clock(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
