- One night long ago in Rossmacowen, there was a carpenter working in a house, and when they were eating their supper the mother of the man of the house got a weakness, and he caught her. She did not get better after this, and she died very soon. When the carpenter went home he saw a crowd of men threshing oats in a field, and a woman turning it for them. When the carpenter came back the next morning the woman that was sick. was dead. This happened about sixty years ago.
