  1. There are very few forges around this part of the country. Long ago there was an old forge west near Michael Neill's house. It was built near the old road that is coming from Castletown to Eyeries. This was a very lonesome place, and the people were very frightened when they used pass that place. One night a man was coming home from a wake. It was about one o' clock. The other boys who were with him went to Eyeries. When he was passing up near the old forge he heard talk inside and the door opened as he was passing by. He ran as fast as he could but he heard noise after him. He stopped, and a man passed near him. He heard people saying after this that he would die. When he went home he got sick and after a while he died
