So one morning himself and his son started to drain the field next to the lake, and they also cut a short drain out from the lake.
After a while the man said that it was time to stop. he went to bed that night as good as he went any night before that. When he woke in the morning he was crippled and one eye blind. Every body said then it was not right for him to touch the lake. There is only a little well to be seen there now and where the rest of the lake was it is all growing with forget-me-nots, and other wild flowers.
