There is a story told of two men who lived in Eyries at the border of Dreenagh where Máire Ní Murchadha lived.
One mans name was known as the Gadaide Dub and the other mans name was not known. The Gadaide Dub used to be stealing cattle every night.
When the time for the other man to get his meals came it was before him in the table without seeing anybody doing it.
He used to thank God alway for the good weather and the bad weather.
One wet morning when he got up out of bed the morning he opened the door and when he saw the day so bad he said "O God it is a bad day" without thanking him for the bad day.
