- There is usually a St. Brigid's Cross in every thatched house. It is said that St. Brigid protects the houses in which one of the Crosses are kept. My father makes the Cross for our house, on St. Brigid's night. First of all he gets two small sticks and straw.
He weaves the straw arround the sticks and then he sticks it in the roof. The Crosses are made in different shapes.- Collector
