    My sister is a hiker,
    She's given up frocks and frills
    For shorts and sweaters. Gaily
    She hikes o'er downs and hills.
    (But mother gets up early
    To speed her on her way
    With buttered eggs and coffee,
    She says she needs a "stay")
    My brother is a hiker,
    He never wants to play,
    He's given up motor cycling
    For a hiking holiday.
    (But mother gets up early
    To pack his ruck-sack neat,
    And mend his socks so trimly:
    Jim's hard upon his feet)
    I'm glad I'm not a hiker,
    I like the garden best,
    And when the other leaves us,
