  1. One night a few years ago a man went visiting his friends that lived two or three miles from the house. About one o'clock he started home and he had a bicycle and was cycling along the road until he came to a crossroads.
There was a big tall man about twice the size of himself standing under a tree. He had a black coat on him and it shining like glass. The man thought it was some person he knew and said to him "What has you out so late?", but the big man did not answer him. The other man knew then that it was a ghost and walked along the road wheeling his bicycle. He did not speak to the ghost only kept walking along beside him until he came to a big wood and the ghost walked into the wood and the man did not see him any more. The man ran down a big hill until he came to a house and he went in and got a drink and then he went home.
