  1. If the swallows are flying low near the ground it is a sign of rain. If the swallows are flying high in the air it is a sign of fine weather.
    If the smoke of a chimney is going up straight it is a sign of rain.
    If a cat sits with his tail to the fire this is a sign of frost.
    If a flock of stairs are seen around anywhere this is a sign of snow in other places.
    If the moon is clear all round it this is is a sign that we will get no rain.
    If there is a circle around the moon or the moon dark it is a sign of rain.
    If the Fastnet seems to be far away we will get fine weather and if it seems near it is a sign of bad weather.
    If there are blue lights in the fire we will [hairer] rain.
