informers to the British Forces. The evening before the burning Wood's wife and two daughters were removed by the I.R.A. to Barry's hotel in Ballydehob for safety. Wood never since repaired the house. He and his family lived in Skibbereen for some time. Then they went to England where they have now lived for fourteen years.
