- Fairs are held in the town of Ballydehob. They are held only in the town.
Sometimes the buyers go out to the country, and they buy animals. Two fairs are held in Ballydehob each month one for the pigs, and bonnives, and the other for cows, and sheep.
The fair is held in the street. It isn't held in any special place.
When an animal is sold luck is given. Two shillings are given for a car of bonnives; a half-crown is given for a cow.
When the bargain is being made, the buyer strikes the hand of the seller.(continues on next page)- Collector
