- In the townland of Rachcoole there is an old graveyard. This graveyard is situated to the east of the workhouse. This year there was a fence put around the graveyard to prevent cattle from wandering over it.
The graveyard was drained also. Before the drain was made the whole graveyard was swamped with water and from that it was called the ''Bog of Allen.''
There are about twelve headstones in the graveyard. Only the people who died in the workhouse were buried there. Many people who are still living remember to see [sic] people buried there.
