    perceived that the stranger was gigantic in height, had a beaming romantic eye, an exceedingly pale countenance, an air of stately melancholy and his hair shone in the moonlight. A little farther on was a house into which the man went. As he entered he cast a glance back at his companion but he had to slam the door for the stranger made a dash as if to catch him. The man immediately rushed to the window to see what the stranger would do. He stood outside the door, looking to the right and to the left as if thinking what he would do and suddenly he vanished in a flash of fire.
