    Sainnt - The blacksmith is sometimes asked to put sainnt on the soc of a plough - that is to turn the point of the soc more towards the left. It will then cut a wider furrow than before. To make it take a narrower furrow he "takes from the sainnt."
    Caldar - A big "caldar" of a stone
    Doimhneog - a straw affair for storing grain, circular, about 8 or 9 feet across, and five feet high; is thatched with straw. there is a layer of straw under the grain, and the sides are made of stout súgáns (4 or 5 inches thick) which are placed in position according as the store of grain within rises. The doimhneog is weather-proof, but to keep out rats and mice it must be made
