    The clock is stopped when a death takes place, and is not set going until after the funeral
    The "waking sheets" are never used for any other purpose. Those who have a set lend them, often to persons from a distance. People avoid buying a new set, as far as they can
    Whoever borrows the waking sheets must take them home.
    Great care is taken in "cutting the sod". This sod is a strip of turf, say seven feet by five, cut in a moor rolled about a stick and tied with rope. It is used to cover the mound when the grave is filled in.
