    burial ground adjoining St. Peter's Church Ballymodan and the corpse was interred with all the rites of the Catholic Church the plot of ground being consecrated by the Canon.
    Note Mr. Carey attended this funeral as a boy and he also informed me that he heard from people who were in close attendance on the Canon at the Gates that he remarked
    '' If they do not open these gates I will put both pillars & gates overboard with my foot''
