About fifty years ago a man named Michael Sullivan lived in East Mountain. He had no land but lived in a house on the side of the road. Miceál Risárd (Michael Richard) the people called him because his father was Richard.
This man was the most noted in Ardfield for drinking a great quantity or eating a big meal. He drank 3 gallons of porter on one day. He often ate half a pan of butter-milk at one meal. On one(continues on next page)
