Carrigeen Moss which is also gathered near the sea, is considered a cure for any chest remedy.
Dandelion is a cure for worms
Mac an dá abhainn is said to be an infallible cure for boils, when cooked and used as a poultice. It is supposed to be a wild carrot. It is said that the person suffering from the swelling should not be present while the plant is being cooked.
Cos Dubh is considered a good cure for headaches. It is boiled and the leaves are strained and the water is drunk like tea.
Some herbs are used for freshening and dyeing clothes.
A weed, red in colour, grows in rocky places it is used for dyeing clothes lemon.
Sea-weed was also used for dyeing clothes.
Ivy when boiled is used for freshening up navy and black clothes
Spurge is used for poisoning rivers and it is said that it would cure an old sore.
