- (continued from previous page)Mrs. O'Brien who lives in the Chapel Hill. He had a machine for stitching shoes, and Mr. Ryan, one of the present shoe-makers in the village, has it now. Dan Harrington was a tailor, he had two sons, Dan and Thady, and they were tailors also. Dan Harrington (senior) was not a very good tailor, but he made flannel wrappers for men.
Johnny Ross was living in Denny Harrington's house, and Robert Drake (Rob he was called) was living where Denny Coomey, harness-maker, now lives. He was lame, and Mr. Donovan the present guard in the train is his step brother. Barry was another tailor in the village, he was lame also, and every evening after stopping work he and Johnny Ross had a race. As both of them were lame it took them a long time to go a short distance, and Barry was usually the winner.- Collector
