  1. The townland I am living in is Tubrid. I’m in the parish of Tracton. There are 13 families in the townland of Tubrid. There are 41 people there.
    All the houses are slated. There are three people over 70 living in the townland of Tubrid. They do not know any Irish. They do not tell many stories. The houses were more numerous in former days than they are now. Most of them are in ruins now. Many people went to America. Songs were made about Tracton. The townland slopes down about 100 feet down to the river. All the land near the river is boggy. It is very good land and good crops are grown there. There was a large wood in the western side of the townland. All the the trees were cut down long ago. Fir, beech, larch
