It is said that the streams near the forge never go dry or never get flooded. If it is a river that is near it, it is said that any salmon won't live in that part of the river. It is also supposed that spring water is often found near the forge.
Formerly a smith lived in Ballydaly.
He had special priveleges. He could lift a newly made horse wheel
