- The different kinds of fowl common in this district are turkeys, geese, hens and ducks.
Turkeys require more care than any of the others. The mother turkey sits on the eggs for about four weeks. Then the little chicks come forth and after a space of twenty four hours, they get a hard boiled egg to eat. After this they get beaten up eggs boiled with a little milk to which a little bakers bread steeped in water is added as the chicks grow older(continues on next page)- Collector
