- (continued from previous page)A remarkable thing in Loughane is 2 stones in Mr. Kiely's land. They are about ten or twelve feet high and 3 feet broad standing upright. Tradition tells us that two giants were trying their strength and they threw these stones across the valley from Clouphilip and they landed in the middle of a field, one a foot beond the other. Cloc mean's a stone Philip was a deacon. The stones are covered with strokes which is supposed to be an old alphabet hundred's of years ago.
