- Our Holy Wells
There is but one Holy Well in our parish. It is situated in the townland of Coolagh. It is
called the Trinity Well. The field where the well is, is known as the Trinity Well Field.
People visit the well three times a year on Trinity Sunday and the Sunday immediately
preceding it and the Sunday immediately succeeding it. Rounds are paid on these Sundays and prayers are said
If a person wants to pay rounds he must first bless himself with the water and walk round
the bushes near the well. While walking he pauses five times at the gaps in the bushes saying
a decade of the Rosary. He must do this three times.
