    very little furniture except the beds which were made of timber and were called tester beds, and were enclosed in three sides by timber casing so it was not easy to fall out of them. As glass was very dear long ago, there was only one small window in each apartment. They were square or oblong which served the purpose of small presses for the tea-canny or any thing like that There was a big beam from wall to wall on which bacon was hung when they had any.
