  2. Small farmers in this district who have only one horse each agree to help each other in the setting and harvesting of the crops. This is called "coaring". The word "coaring" comes from the Irish word "cabhar" which means "help".
    Potatoes are ripe for raising about the end of September or the beginning of October. Up to some time ago ridges were dug with a spade but in recent years they are being ploughed out. When ridges were dug with a spade the big potatoes were put into a different heap from the small ones
