    The marks are still to be seen Many of the present day heroes have tried it but nobody has accomplished the great feat so far.
    Donal O'Keeffe was an outlaw who lived at Kuskeen Caves at Kanturk. One day when he was followed by the English he ran from Buttevent to Ruskeen and there he jumped the river Black-water.
    There are several modern heroes, who are still alive who performed many great feats.
    The one who runs best to my mind is,
    Mr. J. O'Mahony of
    Egmont Row,
    Kanturk.
    He was famous for jumping and running. he won the All Ireland Championship. He was famous at all sports including hurling and football.
