    and would say to the person, "put the size of your head in the churn" The heavier the churn is the longer it takes to make. The churning is done by hand. There are two handles one on either side of the churn, these handles are kept going and the dash is given a rolling motion.
    By the noise of the butter the people can tell when the butter is made.
    The butter is lifted out with the hand, the butter-milk is then squeezed from it, it is then washed. The butter-milk is drunk at dinner.
